The Blackjack Hall of Fame
The best players of blackjack have earned the honor of admission into the Hall of Fame of Blackjack players.
Back in 2002 during the winter there was a very diverse group of 21 blackjack authors, experts and professional players who were selected. They were first nominated by some of the top professional gamblers from all countries to be admitted to the Blackjack Hall of Fame.
The voting for the Hall of Fame was very open to the public. The voting ran for about a month online, and the final day for voting was finished in 2003 in the January Blackjack ball, which was an event, attended only by the major professional players. The ball was hosted by a known blackjack author, Max Rubin. Primary voting for the Hall of Fame was done by all of the professional players.
Founders of the Blackjack Hall of Fame provided a structure for the process of selection in this order and manner because they believed that only the professional players really know the full extent of the accomplishments of those chosen and nominated, besides also knowing them away from the blackjack tables.
The professional players voted for should also be protected and hidden of their information and background as it is considered sensitive information not to be reached by the casino houses. The founders also believed that the professional players depend on the confidentially of their information to survive the games. They have already gained thorough knowledge to make an impact in the gaming industry of blackjack.
For the record there are currently twelve members in the Blackjack Hall of Fame. The first seven were voted to the Blackjack Hall of Fame in 2002. The members are the following:
1. Al Francesco 2. Edward O. Thorp 3. Arnold Snyder 4. Stanford Wong 5. Ken Uston 6. Tommy Hyland 7. Ken Taft 8. Max Rubin 9. Lawrence Revere 10. James Grosjean
From the year 2005 and in every year thereafter, a new player or blackjack researcher who has achieved a great status in Blackjack was/will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The public is encouraged and invited to participate in the online voting that would help make the decision who shall be the new member of the Blackjack hall of fame.
